Giving Thanks for Community Kiosk Services

‘Tis the season to be grateful! Here at Advanced Kiosks, we are giving thanks for all our clients who use automated kiosks to lend a helping hand and serve their communities. Here are just a few ways computer kiosks are making our world a better place:

Community Service

Automated kiosks are often used to organize and manage the legions of people across our country who donate their time to worthy causes. They can do background checks, schedule volunteers, and get the word out about important news and events. Fifty to 75 people use the Cor Unum Meal Center volunteer kiosk every day to check in and out of their volunteer shifts!

But self-service kiosks don’t just make community service possible, they also provide it. In the run-up to our recent midterm elections, voter registration kiosks popped up all over the nation. In Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Public Library worked with the Election Commission and Mayor’s Office to put voter registration kiosks in every library branch. The goal was to register all eligible residents to vote, particularly those without access to reliable internet service.

Community Education

Advanced Kiosks client Screening for Mental Health (SMH) uses its MindKare Kiosks to provide a community service and educate the public about the importance of mental health. Our automated kiosks are secure and anonymous. These kiosks are used to administer online self-assessments that screen for anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating disorders and addiction. They are conveniently located on college campuses, in workplaces, public spaces and even supermarkets. The SMH kiosk program strives to reduce stigma and connect people with the resources they need.

In Texas, the Galveston Bay Estuary and Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority are using kiosks for public education on water quality and conservation. Up in Michigan, the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community started out using their kiosks to notify the public of registered sex offenders. Now they also provide public internet access to vital tribal resources and health care.

Community Gratitude

November is National Gratitude Month. It’s also when we thank our veterans for all they’ve done for us. Advanced Kiosks is proud and grateful to play a small role in honoring those who paid the ultimate price for our nation. Our automated kiosks help loved ones find and remember fallen heroes laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery and in Montana’s Sunset Hills Cemetery at Bozeman’s Vietnam War Memorial.
