- Details: In collaboration with ESPN, Advanced Kiosks undertook the revitalization of the three tower video wall kiosks situated in the lobby of ESPN’s Digital Center 2 in Bristol, Connecticut. This project was not just a technical upgrade but a complete overhaul of both hardware and user experience to meet the contemporary demands of interactive kiosk technology. ESPN, a titan in the sports entertainment industry, sought to enhance the digital experience at the heart of its headquarters, where the iconic SportsCenter and ESPN’s NFL studio programming come to life. The mission was to modernize the video wall system, ensuring it remained a focal point for visitors, reflecting the innovation and excitement synonymous with the ESPN brand.
Advanced Kiosks was tasked with developing a seamless interactive system for the three kiosks, each equipped with three stacked 55-inch monitors showcasing a vast library of SportsCenter commercial videos. The project encompassed the installation of new computer hardware, the creation of custom software for an intuitive user interface, and the integration of an admin console for video content curation. A key aspect of this upgrade was adhering to Section 508 compliance for accessibility, ensuring that all visitors, regardless of ability, could engage with the content. The inclusion of Advanced Kiosks’ Zamok Kiosk Management software further secured the system against tampering while providing a user-friendly admin portal for content management.
The collaboration between ESPN and Advanced Kiosks was highly successful, marrying robust security features with a meticulously designed user experience. By prioritizing accessibility, engagement, and security, the project not only revitalized the physical infrastructure but also enriched the visitor experience, ensuring that ESPN Plaza remains a landmark of technological excellence and innovation in sports entertainment. - Use Case:
