About Us: History
History of Advanced Kiosks
Advanced Kiosks has been a leader and innovator in the self-service computer kiosk industry for over 16 years. Our history began in early 2000 when Founder & President Howard Horn II established engineering firm H32 Design and Development (H32).
In 2003, after a few initial kiosk projects, the company responded to increasing demand by adding computer kiosk design to its menu of services. Soon, the self-service kiosk market became our primary focus, and Advanced Kiosks was born.
Contract with AT&T
Two years later, H32 designs a kiosk for CMD Industries to fulfill a contract with AT&T. This was a large order and a real game-changer for the young company.
Advanced Kiosks is Born
The demand for self-service technology was skyrocketing by this point, and we had proven our aptitude for meeting that demand well.
Advanced Kiosks was created to provide public, private and nonprofit organizations with complete self-service solutions across all industries.
Compact Power Kiosk Launch
When Advanced Kiosks debuted the Compact Power Kiosk, it was the only ADA-compliant kiosk on the market that was less than 3 inches thick. It was our first wall-mounted kiosk design.
Document Kiosk Helps Users Do More
Designed to meet the needs of HR departments and educational institutions, the Document Kiosk represents a quantum leap in computer kiosk functionality. It features built-in laser printer, USB ports, and amplified stereo speakers, plus a range of upgrade options like document scanners, credit card readers and web cameras.
TRIBUTE™ Kiosk Software Unveiled
Advanced Kiosks partnered with Massachusetts Fallen Heroes to develop a memorial project honoring our deceased military heroes with an elegant interactive memorial highlighting each individual’s service. The resulting TRIBUTE™ Kiosk Software family now helps communities across the country keep memories of their lost loved ones alive.
New York Fire Department Project
The New York Fire Department installed several interactive computer kiosks loaded with educational games, tips and videos as part of the “Fire Smart” fire safety education campaign.
The multimedia kiosks educate the public about fire prevention and safety.
Arlington National Cemetery Memorial Kiosks
Howard Horn and his team are honored to provide the hallowed ground of Arlington National Cemetery with eight Freestanding Kiosks and two outdoor Enviro Kiosks, succeeding where the previous vendor had failed.
Move to Concord
In May of 2018, Advanced Kiosks expands manufacturing capacity by moving the entire operation to its new Concord, NH, location.
A very exciting time for the company as the need to deliver large orders increases and the demand for top talent surges.
