Extend Healthcare Professionals Into Rural Communities

A complete rural service access platform for telehealth, guided workflows, documents, communications, and remote assistance.

Advanced Kiosks’ Aegis platform creates managed Rural Health Access Stations where residents can connect live with healthcare professionals, complete forms, scan and print documents, navigate digital services, make calls, check in, and receive real-time assistance, all from one purpose-built public workstation.

Powered by Zamok kiosk software, each station combines secure device management, configurable workflows, communications, document handling, remote support, and reporting in a platform that can be managed across one location or an entire statewide deployment.

Bring Care Closer Without Putting Every Professional in Every Community

Rural communities face a different healthcare access challenge than urban areas. Long travel distances, limited specialist availability, workforce shortages, unreliable broadband, and lack of private technology can make even routine appointments difficult to deliver.

For state and regional health programs, the challenge is not simply adding more telehealth. It is creating reliable, accessible places where residents can connect with healthcare professionals, complete required forms, exchange documents, and receive live assistance when needed.

Instead of requiring every healthcare professional to be physically present in every rural community, place a managed access point closer to the people they serve.

ī‚ƒ

Long Travel Distances

Rural residents may need to travel significant distances for appointments, specialty care, follow-up, and administrative services.

ļƒ€

Healthcare Workforce Shortages

Many communities cannot realistically staff every specialty or service locally, especially when demand is spread across a wide geographic area.



Limited Broadband & Technology

Not every resident has reliable internet, suitable devices, or the equipment needed for a productive telehealth appointment.



Digital Literacy Barriers

Residents may need live guidance with portals, forms, virtual appointments, document upload, or other unfamiliar digital processes.

ļ

Privacy & Accessibility

Home or public settings may not provide the privacy, accessibility, or controlled environment needed for meaningful healthcare interactions.



Administrative & Document Burden

Forms, consent documents, insurance information, referrals, records, and follow-up tasks can make remote care harder to complete.

One Professional. Multiple Rural Communities.

A Rural Telehealth Access Station can extend an existing healthcare workforce across a wider geographic area. Instead of requiring every specialty, navigator, or support role to be physically present in every community, one centralized team can serve residents through secure, live remote connections.

Each location becomes a managed Telehealth Access Point where residents can connect with the right professional, receive assistance, and complete the surrounding workflow.

The result is a practical hub-and-spoke model that helps scarce healthcare resources reach more people without multiplying onsite staffing requirements.

Rural Clinic

More Than a Video Call

A successful rural telehealth program needs more than a webcam and an internet connection. Aegis provides a managed, purpose-built environment that supports the full interaction before, during, and after the live consultation.

Managed Through Zamok

Configure experiences, manage devices, monitor station health, update content, review usage, and oversee distributed deployments from the cloud.

The result is a Telehealth Access Point that supports the entire service interaction, not just the video appointment.

Put Telehealth Access Where Rural Residents Already GoĀ

Aegis Rural Health Access Stations can be deployed inside trusted community locations residents already use, reducing the need to build a new facility or send every provider into every community.

Rural Hospitals & Clinics

Extend specialty care, follow-up, and support services beyond the primary facility.

Libraries

Create a private, technology-enabled access point for residents who may not have reliable broadband, suitable devices, or a quiet place at home.

Tribal Facilities

Bring remote healthcare professionals and support services closer to residents in geographically isolated communities.

Public Health Offices

Expand access to telehealth, care navigation, intake, and community health services from an existing public facility.

Pharmacies

Use a familiar healthcare location as a connection point for remote consultations and related services.

Community Centers & Government Buildings

Place access stations in convenient public locations that already serve rural residents.

The community location becomes the access point. The healthcare professional can remain wherever they are needed most.

The Station Supports the Entire Service Journey

A rural healthcare interaction rarely begins and ends with a video appointment. Residents may need to check in, complete intake, navigate a portal, submit identification or insurance documents, speak with support staff, schedule follow-up, receive printed instructions, or connect with another service.

Aegis brings those steps together through one managed station rather than asking residents to navigate a patchwork of personal devices, websites, phone numbers, scanners, and service locations.

  • Appointment check-in
  • Intake and consent forms
  • Insurance and identity documents
  • Telehealth consultations
  • Referrals and supporting records
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Care navigation
  • Remote interpretation
  • VoIP or video assistance

The Software Behind the Rural Health Access Network

A network of rural access stations only works if administrators can configure, manage, monitor, and support it at scale. Zamok is the software layer behind Aegis, connecting the resident experience with the tools administrators need to operate a distributed deployment.

Built for the Kind of Access RHTP Is Trying to Expand

The Rural Health Transformation Program is investing $50 billion over five years to help states strengthen rural healthcare systems, expand access, modernize technology, support telehealth, and develop sustainable new models of care.

Aegis Rural Health Access Stations fit naturally into that effort by giving states a configurable physical and software platform for telehealth, assisted digital services, document workflows, resident navigation, and centrally managed community access.

Funding eligibility and procurement requirements vary by state and program. Advanced Kiosks provides the technology and implementation platform and does not guarantee grant eligibility or funding.

Different Mission. Same Access Challenge.

Before the Rural Health Transformation Program existed, Advanced Kiosks was already solving a very similar access problem for the federal government.

The U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Trust Funds Administration needed to serve members of a geographically isolated Tribal community without requiring federal representatives to be physically present onsite.

Advanced Kiosks deployed the Aegis remote-service platform at the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana, giving residents a private place to connect live with remote federal representatives, exchange documents, receive guided assistance, and complete services that would otherwise require significant travel.

Build a Distributed Rural Health Network with Aegis Desk

For most rural healthcare programs, the Aegis Desk provides the practical foundation for a distributed access network. It delivers the software, communications, document tools, accessibility, and assisted-service capabilities of the Aegis platform in a compact workstation that can be deployed across multiple communities.

Instead of concentrating the budget in a small number of enclosed booths, programs can deploy Aegis Desks across more communities and create privacy within existing rooms or dedicated service areas.
